Tip to Win Sports Betting

I wrote a post about giving some tips a little while ago but gambling is something you can always improve on.

First point there is much more value in underdogs and unders, because the general public will pick the best teams to score a lot of points. A favorite may only be 4-5 points better than the dog on any given Sunday but to balance the action the book will move that line to 6 or 7 because they know the average bettor will not have done their home work. And when the favorite wins on a last second field goal and fails to cover the spread, us smart guys that took the dog win by taking the side of the sportsbook.

A follow up to the only bet underdogs strategy is to shop around, if you only have one sportsbook account you are costing yourself money.  Personally I have about 5 accounts ready to go with cash loaded up. Because every Online Sportsbook has a different cliental so their lines will be different than the others. This will help you magnify your advantage over the average bettor who will take the favorite at any price. If you’ve capped the game and you know the line should be 5, the line will likely be 5.5 or 6 at most online sportsbooks but now you want to ‘line shop’ really you are just checking all your sportsbook accounts for the best line on the game you want. If you can find a 6.5 or even 7 you’ve given yourself 2 extra points on top of what you’ve determine the line should be.

If you remember from my first post on the topic, if you want to get the best number on an underdog you’ll generally need to bet it closer to game time. This will give all of the weekend warrior, favorite bettors time to get their money in and force the bookmaker to move the line to your advantage.
