Ok so the draft didn’t have the wheeling and dealing of past drafts but several teams made out well and a few left us scratching our heads.
The boldest play of the weekend had the NYJ sacrificed the Lion’s share of their draft for 2 players, first sending Cleveland picks number 17 and 52 along with defensive end Kenyon Coleman, quarterback Brett Ratliff and safety Abram Elam for the 5th pick where they drafted USC QB Mark Sanchez. On day two Mike Tannenbaum was at it again giving up their 3rd, 4th and 7th round picks to the Lions for RB Shonn Greene. A lot of people see these as bold moves but really they are desperate moves by a desperate GM. Something tells me Rex Ryan will be in NY longer than Mike Tannenbaum will.
When you compare the Pre-Draft Super Bowl Odds there weren’t any big movers; the biggest move came back on the 2nd of April when the Bears acquired Jay Cutler from the Broncos. The trade moved the Bears Super Bowl Odds from 40/1 to 25/1. Read the rest of this entry »
