This week’s sportbook Deutsche Bank Championship odds are pointing towards another classic duel between two of the PGA Tour’s best players, and hopefully, it won’t be ruined by one bad hole as it was about a month ago.

Deutsche Bank Championship Odds – Friday, September 4

Some are talking about the “decline” of Tiger Woods (+150), and all we have to say is: are you serious? Woods has four wins in his last eight events, and two other runner-up finishes. If not for a faulty putter, he probably would have won seven of eight, and then people would have said the game was boring because Woods wins all the time. Pick a stance. Oh yeah…he won here at the TPC Boston in 2006, and finished second to Phil Mickelson in 2007.

Padraig Harrington (+1600) went head-to-head with Woods in the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational before he sunk himself with an 8 on the 16th hole in the final round, but he’s now got three straight top-10s, and two top-twos after his T-2 at The Barclays last week. After Woods, there isn’t a better final-round player in the game, and he should find himself in many sports picks this week.

Ernie Els (+2000) is on a bit of a roll with four top-10s in his last six starts, including a T-2 at The Barclays, and he’ll be returning to a place where he’s had success: the “Big Easy” was T-3 here last year behind winner Vijay Singh and Mike Weir, and if he putts like he did at Liberty National, he’s a great pick for betting management players.

If you’re looking for a real risk, check out Steve Marino (+6600), who was in the final group last Sunday before shooting a terrible 77. The TPC Boston has been good to Marino, who was T-10 last year, and in 10 rounds played here, he’s been at par or under par in eight.

Online betting pick: Padraig Harrington, as he’s right on the doorstep of a win, and his swing changes seem to be finally paying off. He’ll want to avenge his loss in the WGC-Bridgestone to Tiger, as well.
