Tip to Win Sports Betting

I wrote a post about giving some tips a little while ago but gambling is something you can always improve on.

A point to remember Billy Walter from the computer group, who was probably the greatest gambler this side of Biff from Back to the Future II, only had a lifetime winning percentage of about 57%. I say only because most people think the best gamblers win on every bet they make.  Don’t be fooled by those “Internet Champs” that tell you they win 97% of the time.  It’s just not true.  Remember the best lose over 40% lifetime but you can maximize your winnings by betting smart

If you are interested in saving $200, sign up for the Rory’s Gold Email and just for signing up I’ll give you the 97% Sports betting Champ system 100% free. Read the rest of this entry »

Interview with Rosi Sexton

May 23rd, 2009

rosi-sexton1Rosi Sexton breaks the stereotypes of what the casual fan expects a top woman’s MMA star should be, Rosi is tough as nails but she’s quite shy and describes herself as a geek, she’s a beautiful woman but won’t exploit it to gain fans or matches and probably the smartest woman in MMA. Rosi Sexton owns a doctorate in the math sciences from the prestigious Cambridge University and not being satisfied she’s currently 3/5’s of the way through earning a degree in osteopathy. Currently she owns a 9-1 record with her only defeat coming to Gina Carano. Carano incidentally came into the fight over the 135lbs limit.

I had the privilege of chatting with Ms. Sexton about her life and her career let’s have a look.

Rory Gold: I have to admit, while I was was researching your background I was so caught up in your doctorate, your other educational pursuits and the fact you are doing it all while raising a young son I forgot I was writing an MMA article. Honestly, I’m amazed at how you balance it all, do you have any secrets you can let me in on. Read the rest of this entry »

UFC 98 Preview

May 18th, 2009

UFC 98 Preview

ufc98UFC 98 features an undefeated champ and an undefeated challenger, someone is going home with a loss.  The UFC originally wanted the light-weight championship match to headline UFC 100 but after Frank Mir had to delay his bout with Brock Lesnar, Evans and Machida was pushed up to the May 23rd show.

The Show also features a fantastic grudge match, Matt Hughes vs. Matt Serra, as well as a couple of UFC 97 fighters jumping back in the cage and lots of replacements. This card has been rearranged several times because of fighters dropping out with injuries.

Let’s have a look at the odds and how each match should play out.

The Odds are courtesy of our good friends at 5Dimes.com

Odds to Win the Preakness Stakes

May 15th, 2009

Pioneer of the NileRachel Alexandra comes in as the 3/2 favorite followed by Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird and Derby runner up Pioneer of the Nile at 9/2.

This race looks to be wide open; if the track stays dry I expect a great race from Pioneer of the Nile and Friesan Fire. Friesan Fire finished a distant 19th in the Kentucky Derby anything less than placing will be a disappointment.   Read the rest of this entry »

Don’t Let the Win Get Away

May 13th, 2009

sway3I’ve just finished reading the Ori and Rom Brafman book Sway: the Irresistible Pull of Irrational Behavior, actually I’ve only finished the first chapter but for gambling purposes, I’ve never read a more rational explanation as to why gamblers chase their losses.

The owner of Bio-medical start up sold his company for stock in a much larger company. At $42 a share, the amount was enough for the man to retire on Martha’s Vineyard with a huge yacht and everything he would have needed. His investment advisor suggests that he cash out 10% at regular intervals and diversify his income so that his retirement dream will be assured. Read the rest of this entry »

How To Calculate a Parlay

May 11th, 2009

parlay
How many times have you placed a big parlay only to have it lose on the final game? Sure, you’ve picked 4 out of 5 or 5 out of 6 but it still pays the same as if you went 1 for 5 because if you lose one game you lose the entire wager.

One of the reasons online sportsbooks can offer very high odds parlays is because its so difficult to pick one winner let alone pick 5.  First, let’s have a look at how to calculate a parlay.

How to Calculate a Parlay

If you are going to bet parlays, always check the payouts as the odds vary from site to site but generally, they payout about 2.6/1 for a two teamer and 6/1 for a 3-teamer using Standard -110 lines. Read the rest of this entry »
