I Want Revenge is the current odds on favorite to win the derby and it’s easy to see why. The horse has never finished lower than 3^rd. The horse was impressive in both the Wood Memorial and Gotham Stakes at Aqueduct.  Trainer Jeff Mullins who is returning from a 1 week anti-drug suspension can hardly contain himself.

In honor of the 135th Kentucky Derby, I wanted to post probably the most hilarious race call in history.

The two best fighters not named Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight this weekend. Ricky “the Hitman” Hatton will step in the ring to fight the pound for pound king Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao.

The only blemish on Hatton’s record is a lost to Mayweather Jr. but his record is padded with tomato cans and wins over less than excellent talent. The Hitman better prepare for war, Manny Pacquiao is coming of a brutal destruction of the most popular boxer of our time, Oscar De La Hoya.

Hatton has power but look for Pacquiao to get a stoppage.

Ok so the draft didn’t have the wheeling and dealing of past drafts but several teams made out well and a few left us scratching our heads.

The boldest play of the weekend had the NYJ sacrificed the Lion’s share of their draft for 2 players, first sending Cleveland picks number 17 and 52 along with defensive end Kenyon Coleman, quarterback Brett Ratliff and safety Abram Elam for the 5th pick where they drafted USC QB Mark Sanchez. On day two Mike Tannenbaum was at it again giving up their 3rd, 4th and 7th round picks to the Lions for RB Shonn Greene.  A lot of people see these as bold moves but really they are desperate moves by a desperate GM. Something tells me Rex Ryan will be in NY longer than Mike Tannenbaum will.

When you compare the Pre-Draft Super Bowl Odds there weren’t any big movers; the biggest move came back on the 2nd of April when the Bears acquired Jay Cutler from the Broncos. The trade moved the Bears Super Bowl Odds from 40/1 to 25/1. Read more

Good bye to a legend – On Tuesday saw the final play in the career of Dikembe Mutombo Mpolondo Mukamba Jean Jacque Wamutombo, or Deke as his friends call him.

It was not the way any of us wanted Dikembe Mutombo’s career to end. Writhing in pain on the floor of the Rose Garden. Deke was not returning next season but if their was a player who deserved a long drawn out standing ovation when he left the court the final time, it was Deke. Read more
